Gauges you can trust, studies you can defend
Make sure the tools you measure with can be trusted. Every gauge is listed with its calibration due date, failed gauges are taken out of use, and studies show whether your measurements are reliable.
Calibration dates live in a spreadsheet, an overdue gauge is still in use, and Gauge R&R studies are done once and lost.
Built and tested in software, not yet proven on a plant line. Available to pilot plants.
Calibration & MSA, step by step
- RegisteredA new gauge that has never been calibrated counts as overdue from the day it is registered.
- In serviceAfter a passing calibration, the gauge is usable until its next due date.
- DueFrom 14 days before the due date (adjustable), quality gets a reminder. The gauge is still usable.
- OverdueAfter the due date the gauge is not usable, and SPC knows it.
- Failed, quarantinedA failed calibration takes the gauge out of use. A passing calibration alone does not bring it back: quality has to return it to service.
What Calibration & MSA does
Gauge register
Every gauge with its calibrations, as-found and as-left values and certificates.
Due list
Gauges due and overdue, with reminders to quality before the date.
Quarantine
A failed calibration takes the gauge out of use until quality puts it back.
Gauge R&R
Crossed studies with ANOVA or average-and-range: %GRR, %EV, %AV, number of distinct categories and a verdict.
Shared with SPC
SPC knows when a gauge is not usable.
Ready to share
Gauge record, register, due list and study, in PDF and Excel.

What changes with Calibration & MSA
No overdue gauge in use by accident
Due dates are tracked and quality is reminded before they pass.
Failed gauges taken out of use
A failed calibration quarantines the gauge until quality puts it back.
Gauge R&R without spreadsheets
Set up the study, enter readings, and get the result and verdict.
SPC knows
SPC is told when a gauge is not usable.
Certificates in one place
Every calibration with its certificate, as-found and as-left values.
Built to stay honest
These rules are part of the app, not settings.
- A gauge that has never been calibrated is overdue from the day it is registered.
- A passing calibration never lifts a quarantine by itself.
- Gauge R&R follows the AIAG MSA reference behaviour. It is a statistical aid, not a certification.
Works with
- Same login, roles and audit trail as every Gorad app
- Runs inside your plant, with offline licensing
- Calibration
- Checking a gauge against a known reference and recording how far off it is.
- MSA
- Measurement system analysis: checking whether your way of measuring is precise enough to trust.
- Gauge R&R
- A study of how much measurement variation comes from the gauge (repeatability) and from the people using it (reproducibility).
- %GRR
- The share of variation caused by the measurement system. Under 10 % is acceptable, 10–30 % marginal, over 30 % unacceptable.
- ndc
- Number of distinct categories: how many groups of parts the measurement system can reliably tell apart. At least 5 is expected.
- Quarantine
- Taking something out of use until it is checked and released.
About Calibration & MSA
What happens when a calibration fails?
The gauge is quarantined. A later passing calibration does not release it by itself; quality must return it to service.
Which Gauge R&R methods are used?
ANOVA and the average-and-range method, following the AIAG MSA reference behaviour.
Is the Gauge R&R result a certification?
No. It is a statistical aid to decide whether a measurement system is good enough.
What about a gauge that has never been calibrated?
It counts as overdue from the day it is registered.
