Gorad NCR / CAPA · Quality

Non-conformances that close, with evidence

When something goes wrong, make sure it is fixed for good. Problems are logged by hand or automatically from inspection and SPC, then worked through step by step until the fix is proven to work.

The problem

Rejects are counted, but the link from a reject to its cause, its action and its proof lives in emails and memory.

Early access

Built and tested in software, not yet proven on a plant line. Available to pilot plants.

How it works

NCR / CAPA, step by step

  1. The NG rate crosses your limitOver the last hour, Station 3 rejects more than the 2 % limit quality set in an auto-raise rule.
  2. An NCR is raisedNCR-2026-0042 opens with the station, the view and the NG images attached as evidence.
  3. ContainSuspect parts are quarantined. Investigation cannot start until containment is done.
  4. Investigate and fixThe 8D steps guide root cause and corrective action, each with an owner and a due date.
  5. Verify and closeClosing needs every required step and a disposition. A closed NCR is read-only.
  6. Did it go away?NCR compares the reject rate before the NCR with the rate after the fix.

What it does

What NCR / CAPA does

Raised from the line

Rules raise an NCR from a count of NG results, an NG rate above your limit, or an SPC violation. Rules are off until quality turns them on.

8D, versioned

Each NCR copies the active template when it is created, so a new template never changes open NCRs.

A real workflow

Draft, open, contained, investigating, corrective action, verification and closed, with guards at every step.

Evidence attached

Files, Vision images and SPC references stay with the NCR.

Did it go away?

After closing, NCR compares reject rates before the NCR and after the fix.

Reminders

Owners and quality are notified on assignment, closing and when an NCR is overdue.

Rules it keeps

Built to stay honest

These rules are part of the app, not settings.

  • Containment comes before investigation, and closing needs every required step and a disposition.
  • Closed NCRs are read-only. Reopening needs a reason and is counted.
  • Use-as-is needs a concession reference.
  • NCR never changes a verdict and never writes to a PLC.

Questions

About NCR / CAPA

Can NCRs be raised automatically?

Yes, by rules: a number of rejects, a reject rate above your limit, or an SPC violation. Rules are off until quality switches them on.

Do we have to use 8D?

8D is the default template. Templates are versioned, so a new version never changes NCRs that are already open.

Can a closed NCR be edited?

No. Closed NCRs are read-only. Reopening one needs a reason and is counted.

Can an NCR change an inspection result?

No. NCR only reads results. It never changes a verdict or sends anything to a PLC.
