AI visual inspection that never passes a part by default
Cameras and AI check every part on your line. Good parts go on; anything doubtful is rejected, with the image and the reason saved, so you always know why.
Inspection you can stand behind
Every part, every shift
The same standard at 3 a.m. as at 10 a.m. No fatigue, no shortcuts.
A fault never passes a part
If a camera, a check or the software fails, the part is rejected.
Proof for every decision
Images, the result and the reason are kept for every part.
Change it without a vendor visit
Your engineers adjust inspections in the browser, with every version kept.
Rules first, AI where it helps
Simple checks stay simple. AI is used where parts vary too much for rules.
Feeds the rest of the platform
Results flow into process control, non-conformances, OEE and traceability.
What happens when a camera fails
What an inspection system does when it cannot see matters as much as how well it sees. Gorad Vision is fail-closedFail-closed When anything goes wrong, the system takes the safe option: the part is rejected, never passed.: when in doubt, the part is NGNG “No good”: the part failed a check, or could not be checked properly, and is rejected..
- TriggerThe PLC signals that a part is in position. The station checks the line is safe before it starts.
- Capture every viewEach camera captures its view and runs the checks in the signed program.
- A view faultsCamera 3 times out. Skipping it could let a bad part through, so Gorad treats a missing result as a failed one.
- Write the journalThe verdict and the reason are written to the journal first, so there is always a record.
- NG to the PLCOnly then does the PLC get the result: NG. The part is rejected, never passed by mistake.
Step 1 of 5
Safety written into the product
Built in and covered by automated tests. Not settings anyone can switch off.
Every view must pass
A part is OK only if every expected camera view reports OK. Errors, timeouts and missing images all count as NG.
Written down before acting
The result is saved to the journal before the PLC hears it, so every decision has a record.
Line safety at every trigger
The station checks that it is safe to inspect on every single part, not only at start-up.
Only approved programs run
Programs are signed and checked, and must pass a golden-sample test before going live.
No silent defaults
A check that is not set up, or is missing its model, reports a fault. It never pretends the part is fine.
Licences never stop the line
Licence status never affects inspection or the signal to the PLC.
What it is built to inspect
A few examples. Defects, counts, sizes, text or codes: send us a part and we will show you.
Connecting rod, complete inspection
Chip-off, voids, dents, burrs and machining defects on every face of the rod.
Air filter catalyst blockage
Measures the share of blocked cells and rejects above your threshold.
PCB assembly
Component presence, location and polarity on every board.
IGBT module variant check
Confirms the module is the variant the line is running.
Bearing pin count
Counts pins in every bearing and rejects any that are missing.
Brick damage
Cracks, chipped edges and broken corners on bricks on a moving line.
What your team sees
Simple screens for operators, detailed ones for engineers, kept apart.
Operator screen
A large OK or NG, the reason in plain words, and each camera view with the checked areas marked.
NG review
Engineers look through rejected images and false rejects, and improve the program from them.
Results and history
Find any part by its result and see what each camera saw at the time.
Station health
Safety and health banners on every screen, so a problem is never hidden.
As automated as your line
Start at today’s level of automation. The inspection works the same at every level.
Manual
An operator loads the part and starts the inspection. Simple and quick to set up.
Semi-automated
An operator loads the part; a sensor or the PLC starts the inspection automatically.
Fully automated
Conveyors, stop-and-go lines or robots present the part, and the PLC runs everything.
Station types
Fixed station
The part is placed in a fixture or stops at the station. One camera or several look at it from different sides.
Conveyor, stop-and-go
The conveyor stops the part, the station inspects it, and it moves on. The PLC or a barcode selects the program for each variant.
Robot or cobot cell
A robot presents the part to the cameras at several positions, for parts that need many views. Still one verdict per part.
Parts moving continuously at very high speed (line-scan, more than 20 parts a second) are outside what Gorad Vision does today.
Standalone station
One station on the machine network. Everything it needs runs on site, with no other connections.
Several stations, one server
A site server manages programs, users and results for many stations in one place.
Rules first, AI where it helps
One inspection program can combine classical toolsClassical tools Rule-based image checks such as measuring, counting or checking colour. Fast, predictable and easy to explain. and AI. Classical tools are fast and easy to explain; AI handles parts that vary too much for fixed rules.
| Tool | Type | What it answers |
|---|---|---|
| Presence and count | Classical | Is every component there, and how many are there? |
| Measurement | Classical | Sizes, gaps and positions, checked against limits. |
| Colour | Classical | Is it the right colour or shade? |
| Barcodes and data matrix codes | Classical | Read the code and check it matches what is expected. |
| Polarity and position | Classical | Is the part the right way round and in the right place? |
| Anomaly detection | AI | Learns what a good part looks like and flags anything unusual. |
| Object detection | AI | Finds and locates specific features or defects. |
| OCR | AI | Reads printed or engraved text. |
| Classification | AI | Sorts a part or defect into the right category. |
| Segmentation | AI | Outlines the exact area of a defect, for example to measure how much is affected. |

About Gorad Vision
How many cameras can one station use?
From a single camera to multi-camera cells. In robot cells, the robot presents the part to the cameras at several positions. Whatever the number of views, there is one verdict per part.
Do we need lots of defect images to use AI?
Not always. Classical tools need none. Anomaly detection learns mostly from good parts, so you start with good samples and use defect examples to fine-tune.
What happens when we change to another product variant?
The PLC or a barcode selects the right inspection program, and a changeover screen guides the operator. Every program version is kept, so you can go back.
Can an operator change the inspection?
No. Operators run the station. Engineers change programs in the engineering screens, after confirming their password, and every change is recorded.
Which PLCs and cameras does it work with?
PLCs over Modbus TCP, Siemens S7 or OPC UA. GenICam / GigE Vision industrial cameras and USB cameras.
