Get clean machine data out of the PLC
Your machines already know how many parts they made, when they stopped and why. Gorad Connect reads that from your PLCs and meters and passes it on, so OEE, quality and maintenance run on real data.
Machine data without the manual work
No more manual logging
Counts, stops and alarms are read straight from the machine, as they happen.
Nothing lost when the network drops
Readings are kept on the gateway and sent once the network is back.
Safe to connect
Read-only by default, and never part of the inspection safety path.
Map once, use everywhere
Raw PLC values become standard events that every app and your own systems understand.
Works with machines you have
Modbus TCP, Siemens S7 and OPC UA, so no new controllers are needed.
Set up in the browser
Find tags, map them and check live values on screen. No programming.
Read, translate, keep, deliver
When the link to the brokerBroker A message hub (MQTT) that passes events from machines to the apps that need them. goes down, Connect keeps every reading on the gateway and sends it when the link returns. That is store and forwardStore and forward Data is kept safely on the gateway while the network is down, and sent when it comes back..
- ReadThe gateway reads tags from your PLCs and meters on a schedule you set.
- TranslateRaw values become standard events: a machine state, a part count, a measurement, an alarm.
- KeepEvery reading goes into a local buffer first, so a network drop loses nothing.
- DeliverEvents go to the apps and to your own systems, in the same clean format.
Talks to the machines you already have
Modbus TCPModbus TCP A simple, widely used way for PLCs and devices to exchange data over a network.
Holding and input registers, coils and discrete inputs.
Siemens S7Siemens S7 The communication protocol used by Siemens S7 PLCs.
Read data block addresses, and import tags from a TIA Portal export.
OPC UAOPC UA A modern, vendor-neutral standard for reading data from industrial machines and controllers.
Connects as a client to PLCs and servers on your network.
Not available today: EtherNet/IP, and Connect acting as an OPC UA server.
Tags in, meaningful events out
You map raw tagsTag A named value inside a PLC, such as a part counter or a machine state. once. Every app, and any system that reads from the broker, gets the same clean eventsEvent A clean, standard message such as “machine stopped” or “part counted”, made from raw PLC tags..
machine.state
Running, idle, stopped or faulted, with the time it changed.
production.count
Good and total part counts for OEE and shift reports.
measurement
Process values for SPC and trend charts.
alarm
Machine alarms with their state, for Andon and maintenance.
Configured from the browser
- Connections and a catalogue of tags
- Look inside the PLC from the browser to find the right tags
- Map tags to events, and check live values on the spot
- Dead letters: events that could not be delivered, ready for review
Built to be safe on a running line
Read-only by default
Writing a value back to a machine must be configured on purpose, and every write is audited.
Never on the safety path
Connect is never part of the inspection result sent to the PLC. That runs on the Vision station itself.
Buffer first
Every reading is stored locally before it is sent, so a network drop cannot lose it.
Nothing silently dropped
Events that still cannot be delivered are kept as dead letters for review.
Bad readings say so
A bad or stale reading is sent with its quality marked, never as a good value.

About Gorad Connect
Will Connect change anything on our PLC?
No. It only reads by default. Writing a value back has to be set up on purpose for a specific tag, and every write is recorded.
What happens when the network goes down?
Readings are kept on the gateway and sent when the network returns. Anything that still cannot be delivered is kept for review, not thrown away.
Do we need an MQTT broker?
No. With a broker, events go through it to every app and to your own systems. Without one, the gateway sends events straight to the Gorad server.
Can our own systems use the data?
Yes. Events use a standard format on the broker, so your MES, dashboards or scripts can read them too.
Which PLCs does it support?
PLCs and meters that speak Modbus TCP, Siemens S7 or OPC UA. EtherNet/IP is not available today, and Connect does not act as an OPC UA server.
