Building materials
Damaged products are usually sorted by people watching a fast line, and attention drops. Gorad checks each piece as it passes, rejects damaged ones automatically, and records the reject rate per shift.
What makes inspection hard here
- Products move fast, one piece after another, and people sorting them get tired
- Cracks, chipped edges and glaze defects are easy to miss when attention drops
- Shade and size vary from batch to batch
- Reject rates are rarely measured, so problems stay hidden
Typical checks
Defects and surface damage
Cracks, chipped edges, broken corners, glaze defects and pinholes on bricks, blocks, tiles and sanitaryware.
Measurement
Length, width and squareness in 2D, against your limits.
Sorting and classification
Shade and colour grouped by batch, and pieces outside the accepted range rejected.
Presence and count
The right number and pattern of pieces on each pallet.

Shade and colour
Colour or shade outside the accepted range for the batch.
Colour camera, controlled diffuse light
Pallet and stack counts
Count and pattern of pieces on a pallet before wrapping.
Area scan from above
Fast continuous lines (glass, sheet, board, profiles, rebar and high-speed tile lines) need line-scan cameras, and particle sizing is usually done with sieves or lasers. These are outside what Gorad offers today. On hot, dusty lines, enclosures and mounting take much of the engineering effort.
