Pharmaceuticals

In pharma, a missing cap, an unreadable code or a wrong label has to be caught before the product leaves the line. Gorad checks containers, tablets, labels and codes on every unit and keeps a record of each decision.

The challenge

What makes inspection hard here

  • Every container, pack and label needs checking, not a sample
  • Lot numbers, expiry dates and serial codes must be readable and correct on every unit
  • Many products and strengths share a line, so the wrong tablet or leaflet must be caught
  • Audits ask what was checked, when, and what was rejected
What we inspect

Typical checks

Defects and surface damage

Visible cracks and discoloration in vials, chipped or broken tablets, coating defects and syringe barrel defects.

Presence and count

Caps, seals, needle shields, tablets in every blister pocket, and leaflets in every carton.

Measurement

Fill level in vials and ampoules, and plunger position in pre-filled syringes.

Codes and text

Lot, expiry and serial codes read and checked, with an indicative print-quality grade for Data Matrix.

Variant and orientation

The right tablet, label and leaflet for the batch, in the right place.

Gorad inspects containers, products and labels visually. It does not replace laboratory release tests.

Particle inspection of injectables for batch release, and certified code verification for track-and-trace regulations, need validated, dedicated systems. Gorad does not claim either today. Bulk tablet sorting faster than 20 parts per second is also outside today’s scope. Gorad keeps an audit trail of every decision, but does not claim GxP validation or 21 CFR Part 11 / EU Annex 11 compliance today; validation for a regulated line would be agreed as part of the project.
